The Okanagan Valley is a region of British Columbia, sometimes regarded as the "California" of Canada. Its mild, dry climate with plenty of sunshine ensures that the area is a popular destination for vacationers and home-buyers alike. The area is best known for its wineries (over 120 in the Valley), orchards, and outdoor activities. The Valley is home to over 200,000 people, with slightly over 100,000 located in the major city of Kelowna. Other communities include Armstrong, Vernon, Penticton, and Summerland.

Education
Educational opportunities depend on the area of the Okanagan that you prefer to live in. The largest city in the area is Kelowna, with a population of over 100,000. Kelowna is served by School District 23 Central Okanagan or School District 93 Conseil scolaire francophone, and provides private, public, Montessori or French immersion schools. Post-secondary schools in the area include a campus of the University of British Columbia, the Okanagan College and Sprott-Shaw Community College.
